Ministry of Justice – An extraordinary job

HMPPS needed prison officers at scale, but most people picture the job through television drama and rule themselves out. The reality is quieter and harder to dramatise. The best officers listen, stay calm, read a room and hold a boundary. Skills a lot of people already use every day, in jobs they'd never call extraordinary.
The campaign starts with the audience rather than the institution. The line holds both things at once: the weight of the work, and the ordinariness of the person doing it.

The identity is built on real officers in real settings, with typography that sits alongside them rather than shouting over them. Credibility is the campaign's most valuable asset, so nothing is staged and nothing is heroic.
The guidelines carry that across prisons, probation, youth custody and Community Payback, so regional teams producing their own assets still sound like one service.
